Ten years after introducing Oh My Girl, WM Entertainment has launched a new girl group named USPEER, signaling a fresh chapter in the agency’s history. With a concept focused on sporty energy and vibrant charisma, USPEER is ready to make their mark on the K-pop scene.
On June 4 at 6 PM KST, the group made their official debut by releasing their first single album 'SPEED ZONE' along with the music video for the title track "ZOOM" across major streaming platforms. USPEER is WM’s first girl group since Oh My Girl and carries high expectations. The group name combines “US” and “SPEER” to express a vision of understanding the world together and creating a better future.
The seven members of USPEER each bring unique strengths:
- Yeo Won is the team’s steady captain
- So Ee is a passionate rapper
- Si An is a versatile all-rounder
- Seo Yu is known for her lovely smile
- Da On brings a clear and refreshing charm
- Chae Na is full of playful energy
- Roa is the youngest with a deeply emotional vocal tone
Breaking from tradition, USPEER refers to their leader as a “captain” rather than the usual term “leader” to reflect their sports team-inspired concept. The group sees themselves as a team of athletes working together toward a common goal. Their debut album 'SPEED ZONE' represents the starting line of their journey. Featuring production by renowned K-pop team MonoTree, the album showcases USPEER’s desire to move forward at their own pace.
Title track "ZOOM" is an electro-hip-hop song with bold rapping, powerful vocals, and a fast-paced, addictive structure. The word "ZOOM" here captures the sensation of speeding ahead with confidence rather than referring to a camera function. The song expresses the group’s ambition to charge fearlessly toward the future.
The track features car engine-like sound effects, catchy melodies, and distinctive choreography that adds to its visual impact. Each member’s vocal and rap style adds richness and diversity to the performance. The single album also includes the track "Telepathy" which contrasts the intensity of "ZOOM" with its UK garage rhythm and R&B influence delivering vibrant energy with a softer emotional tone.
With a strong concept and energetic presence USPEER aims to become a key figure in WM Entertainment’s next generation. Their race has just begun and they are moving full speed ahead.
