TV personality Kim Jong Min has left for his long-awaited honeymoon, and “1 Night 2 Days” will continue filming without him — or a guest to fill his spot.
According to industry sources on June 4, the KBS2 variety show '1 Night 2 Days Season 4' will record its next episode on June 6 in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province, with only the remaining five members.
Though the production team initially considered bringing in a guest to temporarily fill Kim’s role, they ultimately decided to proceed with just Moon Seyoon, Jo Seho, DinDin, Yoo Sunho, and Lee Jun.
Kim Jong Min tied the knot on April 20 with his non-celebrity girlfriend, who is 11 years his junior. A month later, on May 27, the couple departed for a three-week honeymoon in the south of France.
Since the show’s debut in 2007, Kim has been a constant presence on '1 Night 2 Days' across all seasons for 18 years. His temporary absence has thus garnered attention from longtime viewers. He is expected to return for filming on June 20 following his honeymoon.
'1 Night 2 Days' remains one of KBS’s flagship and longest-running variety shows. In August of last year, producer Joo Jonghyun took over as lead PD, and with the addition of new members Lee Jun and Jo Seho, the show saw a revamp that led to rising viewership. In January of this year, it recorded a 9.5% nationwide rating (Nielsen Korea), nearing double digits.
