Kang Daniel revealed his hidden love for Star Wars and talked about his special hobby during a recent appearance on a variety show.
On the June 1 episode of SBS TV’s 'My Little Old Boy,' Kang Daniel appeared as a special MC and caught viewers’ attention by sharing his surprising hobby.
During the broadcast, Kang Daniel showcased his charm as MC Seo Jang Hoon introduced him by saying, "He’s captured hearts with a Marvel superhero’s body and a Disney prince’s face," highlighting the idol's unique blend of masculine charisma and boyish charm.
Then, MC Shin Dong Yup brought up the topic of Kang Daniel's special hobby. Shin Dong Yup revealed, "Kang Daniel is a huge movie fan. His favorite films are 'Star Wars' and 'Deadpool'." Kang Daniel explained he has a unique hobby. He shared that he has been collecting 'Star Wars' lightsabers and elaborated that over 80 of them. The show briefly showed Kang Daniel's collection, impressing the cast.
The singer also brought one of his lightsabers to the studio and explained its value. When Seo Jang Hoon worried, "If this is glass, wouldn't it break?" Kang Daniel reassured him, saying, "It's reinforced glass, so it's fine," and proceeded to demonstrate its durability with a strong swing.
When Kang Daniel mentioned that each lightsaber typically costs around 400,000 to 500,000 KRW (approximately 290 USD–360 USD), Shin Dong Yup jokingly offered, “I have a nice bottle of whiskey in my car. Want to trade?” bringing laughter to the studio.
