Actress Go So Young recently shared her thoughts on her marriage to actor Jang Dong Gun, revealing that her decision to marry him was based on personality rather than appearance.
On June 20, a new video titled 'Consulting Capital-T So Young' was uploaded to Go So Young’s YouTube channel That's Go So Young. In the video, she opened a virtual advice center to connect with subscribers and offer heartfelt guidance.
Go, who married Jang Dong Gun in 2010, explained, “I didn’t marry him because of his looks. I chose him because he is sincere and genuinely kind.” She continued by offering advice to a viewer who was torn between two men, saying, “It’s a happy dilemma. But in the end, you should be with someone you communicate well with and who truly suits you.”
She also responded to a question about travel differences in relationships, sharing her own experiences. “We’re the same way,” she said. “When I travel, I want to take in as much as possible. I’m all about quantity. I even watch seven movies on a flight and forget what I saw.”
She contrasted her style with that of Jang Dong Gun, who prefers a more relaxed approach. “Even on a trip to Europe, he’ll sit at a café all day just watching the streets,” she said. “I used to complain and ask why we came all the way to Europe just for that. But I learned that it's important to allow each person to enjoy what they like. You can meet up for meals and do your own thing. Being together all the time can get tiring.”
Addressing concerns about aging, Go reflected on her own feelings. When a fan shared stress about growing older, she responded, “I also wonder if the happy version of myself that people see is really okay. On social media, we only share the prettiest and happiest moments.”
She admitted that experiencing signs of aging was difficult. “It was upsetting when I first noticed it. But it's not just happening to me. It's a future that comes for everyone. It’s something every human experiences. I’m not always happy either. I have sadness and worries. For mothers, the happiest thing is simply getting through the day without trouble.”
In response to a viewer who was struggling to choose between a man with good looks and one with a better personality, Go shared a personal anecdote. “A friend once asked me the same thing. I told her that looks don’t matter. What really matters is whether the person loves you and listens to you. But she said, ‘You’re the last person who should say that!’” Go recalled with a laugh.
