F.T. Island's Lee Hong Ki is set to release a remake of Psy's lesser-known track "Because It's Raining."
On June 19, FNC Entertainment announced, “Lee Hong Ki will release a remake of PSY’s ‘Because It’s Raining.’ The track will drop on major music platforms on July 6 at 6 PM (KST).”
Originally released by Psy in 2006, “Because It’s Raining” captures the emotional complexity of a protagonist who, on a rainy day, ends up calling an ex-lover as old memories resurface.
While preserving the original’s melancholy tone, Lee Hong Ki brings a fresh charm to the track with his signature clear and emotionally resonant vocals, adding a deeper layer of heartbreak and sentiment.
A representative stated, “Lee Hong Ki’s understated delivery blends seamlessly with the gradually building emotional arc. He has truly made ‘Because It’s Raining’ his own with a unique vocal color.”
This remake is part of the 'Today’s Pick' project, which is a curated music series that has featured artists like Big Mama’s Park Min Hye, Lim Han Byul, Lee Ye Joon, Monday Kiz, and Huh Gak, all known for delivering well-crafted reinterpretations.
