Ju Hak Nyeon, a former member of The Boyz, has filed a defamation complaint against TenAsia journalist Choi Ji Ye under South Korea’s Information and Communications Network Act. The lawsuit was filed on June 20, following the publication of a controversial article by TenAsia earlier this week.
On June 18, TenAsia released an exclusive report alleging that Ju Hak Nyeon had engaged in prostitution with Asuka Kirara, a former Japanese adult film actress. The article claimed Ju met Kirara at a private bar in Tokyo in late May, where they allegedly spent the night together and exchanged money. According to the report, multiple entertainment industry sources stated that Ju’s former agency, One Hundred Label, confirmed the incident after conducting an internal investigation.
The article further claimed that although Ju initially denied the accusations, he later admitted to the act when confronted with what the agency believed was concrete evidence. Following this, One Hundred Label announced both Ju Hak Nyeon’s withdrawal from The Boyz and the termination of his exclusive contract, citing “a serious breach of trust.”
However, Ju Hak Nyeon denied the allegations in a handwritten statement posted on June 18, calling the report false and damaging. His legal team argues that the article was based on unverified claims and has severely harmed his reputation.
In a formal statement, One Hundred Label said: “We view this issue with great seriousness. After thorough discussions with the members, we decided on Ju Hak Nyeon’s departure from the group and termination of his contract. We will do everything we can to support the remaining members of The Boyz and ensure they continue their activities without disruption.”
The agency also offered an apology to fans, saying: “We sincerely regret the concern this matter has caused and will work hard to deliver more positive news in the future.”
The case is now under legal review, and further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
