Broadcaster Dex has denied reports claiming his casting in the upcoming drama 'Men of the Harem,' which is reportedly in talks to star actress Suzy in the lead role.
On June 19, Dex’s agency, kthd studio, told Xports News, “The reports about Dex appearing in Men of the Harem are not true.”
Earlier that day, a media outlet had reported that Dex would be joining the cast of 'Men of the Harem,' playing one of the concubines of the Empress character Latil, portrayed by Suzy.
'Men of the Harem' is a palace romance fantasy set in the fictional Tarim Empire. It follows Empress Latil as she recruits male concubines to strengthen her power and protect her throne. The drama will be directed by Lee Eung Bok, known for hit series such as 'Descendants of the Sun,' 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,' 'Mr. Sunshine,' and 'Sweet Home.' The script is being written by Hwang Jin Young, the writer behind MBC’s 'My Dearest,' with production handled by Studio Dragon.
Previously, Suzy was reported to be in talks for the leading role of Latil.
Dex, a former UDT (Korean Navy Special Forces) soldier, gained fame through Wavve’s 'Game of Blood' series and Netflix’s 'Single’s Inferno 2.' He has since appeared on a variety of popular shows, including MBC’s 'Adventure by Accident seasons 2, 3, and 4,' Netflix’s 'Zombieverse,' Disney+’s 'The Zone: Survival Mission 3,' and tvN’s 'Fresh off the Sea.'
He made his acting debut in the 2023 film 'Tarot' and is set to appear in the upcoming ENA drama 'The Defects,' which premieres this July.
