Yang Se Chan’s actions on the latest episode of SBS’s variety show 'Running Man' have sparked controversy among viewers.

In the episode aired on May 11th KST, cast member Ji Ye Eun attempted to avoid a penalty by showing her aegyo (cute charm) to Yoo Seung Ho. During this moment, Yang Se Chan suddenly "hit" Ji Ye Eun on the head with his hand, saying, “Stop it. I can’t stand listening to this anymore.”

The sudden action left the other cast members visibly surprised, with several turning to look at Ji Ye Eun. Although she quickly laughed it off to ease the situation, many viewers voiced their discomfort and criticism.

Comments included: “He has bad habits with his hands,” “Even I was shocked just watching it,” “Why did he hit her? She didn’t do anything wrong,” and “That was out of line. This needs to be addressed.” Some viewers suggested he only did it because Ji Ye Eun seemed like an easy target.

One viewer remarked, “Yang Se Chan and the members usually treat Ji Ye Eun well, but he needs to fix this kind of behavior.”

This isn’t the first time such behavior has occurred. In a previous episode, Yang Se Chan was also seen hitting Ji Ye Eun on the head during a quiz segment, leading to ongoing criticism about repeated behavior.

Running Man has faced similar controversies in the past. In 2023, the show aired an unedited argument between members that included profanity and was criticized for parodying a drinking scene from the R-rated film Inside Men. The Korea Communications Standards Commission issued an official warning to the program following those incidents.

Running Man, which first aired in 2010, remains one of SBS’s longest-running variety shows.
