Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise met BTS member Jin during his recent visit to South Korea to promote Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two (also known as Mission: Impossible 8).

According to industry insiders on May 12, Cruise made a surprise appearance on 'Run BTS Jin' (‘Run Seokjin’), a solo variety series by Jin uploaded weekly on BTS’s YouTube channel, 'BANGTAN TV'. This marks the first-ever meeting between the two global icons.

The appearance was part of the promotional tour for Mission: Impossible 8, set to premiere in Korea on July 17. Tom Cruise arrived in Seoul on May 7, joined by director Christopher McQuarrie and co-stars Hayley Atwell, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, and Greg Tarzan Davis. It marked Cruise’s 12th official visit to Korea.

While Cruise reportedly appeared solo on Run BTS Jin, other cast members took part in various Korean content: director McQuarrie joined Master’s Talk with director Choi Dong-hoon (The Thieves, Assassination), and actors Simon Pegg and Greg Tarzan Davis guested on Epik High’s YouTube channel. These segments are expected to be released around the film’s premiere.

'Mission: Impossible 8' follows Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team as they face a world-threatening crisis in a high-stakes mission. The film is also the first in the franchise to be invited to the Cannes Film Festival (out of competition).
