
Suzy may soon take on a new role as the lead in the live-action adaptation of the hit web novel 'Men of the Harem.'
According to OSEN's exclusive report on the 12th, Suzy is currently reviewing an offer to play the lead role of “Latil” in the upcoming drama 'Men of the Harem.' The series is based on the popular Naver web novel written by Alphatart, which follows the story of Empress Latil of the fictional Tarim Empire. In an effort to maintain her power, the empress gathers a group of male consorts, leading to a palace romance-fantasy filled with intrigue and drama.
Originally serialized from March 2020 to June 2023, 'Men of the Harem' recorded over 21.4 million downloads and was later adapted into a webtoon, gaining massive popularity both in South Korea and internationally. Fans have long anticipated a live-action version, and Suzy’s potential casting as Latil has only heightened the excitement.
The drama will be produced by Studio Dragon, known for high-profile projects such as 'Sweet Home 2,' 'Sweet Home 3,' 'Mr. Sunshine,' and 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.' The series will be directed by Lee Eung Bok, while the screenplay will be penned by Hwang Jin Young, celebrated for her work on MBC’s critically acclaimed 2023 drama 'My Dearest.'
'Men of the Harem' is currently in the pre-production stage, with casting actively underway.
