KBS 2TV’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The First Night With the Duke' has released two character posters featuring Girls' Generation’s Seohyun and 2PM's Ok Taecyeon, offering an exciting preview of the romantic story to come.
Premiering on June 11, the drama is based on the popular Naver web novel by Hwang Do Tol and follows the story of an ordinary college student who suddenly wakes up in the world of a romance novel. She finds herself in the role of a minor character and unexpectedly spends a night with the story’s most obsessive male lead. What unfolds is a fast-paced, fantasy romance where fate takes an unexpected turn.
Seohyun’s character poster introduces Cha Sun Chek, the college student who ends up inside the fictional world. Dressed in a soft pink skirt and sky-blue jeogori, she holds a telescope, as if exploring her unfamiliar surroundings. Her curious gaze and playful smile perfectly capture the excitement of someone stepping into a new and mysterious world.
In contrast, Ok Taecyeon’s character Yi Beon gives off a much more intense energy. Wearing a dark hanbok and traditional gat, he holds the hilt of a sword with a firm grip. His sharp eyes and composed expression convey a sense of cold determination. Despite his stoic appearance, he’s someone who throws everything aside when it comes to love, making his character all the more intriguing.
These posters hint at the unique dynamic between Cha Sun Chek and Yi Beon. Their story, which begins with an unexpected night, sets the stage for a romance that challenges destiny and shakes the foundation of their world.
The production team commented, “We hope viewers will pay attention to the emotional journey between a modern-day college student and the obsessive male lead from a fictional world. Seohyun and Ok Taecyeon’s fun chemistry will bring this story to life in a way that’s both engaging and heartfelt.”
'The First Night With the Duke' will premiere on KBS 2TV on Wednesday, June 11, at 9:50 PM KST.
