On May 8 KST, Oh My Girl's management label WM Entertainment released the following statement on the members' exclusive contracts.
"Hello, this is WM Entertainment.
First and foremost, we would like to thank and congratulate Oh My Girl and their fans, who are celebrating the great milestone known as the group's 10th anniversary this year.
We would also like to notify you that members Hyojung, Mimi, Seunghee, and Yubin recently chose to renew their exclusive contracts with WM Entertainment.
Following their decision to renew their contracts once in 2022 based on a relationship of deep faith and trust, the 4 Oh My Girl members were once again united in their choice to continue with WM Entertainment.
We are extremely pleased to continue our special relationship with the members of Oh My Girl through this renewal and sincerely thank the members for their thoughtful decision.
After a length discussion, it has been decided that members YooA and Arin will not renew their contracts.
Although WM Entertainment will cease to manage YooA and Arin's individual activities, both members promised to continue their group activities as Oh My Girl.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank YooA and Arin for working alongside us for the past 10 years, and we will cheer on both members in their future endeavors.
WM Entertainment also vows to do its best so that Oh My Girl can not only continue their group activities, but also shine as individuals in various areas.
We ask the fans as well for their love and support as the members of Oh My Girl prepare for a new chapter in their careers, both individually and as a group."
In light of the news above, member YooA took to her Instagram to relay her thoughts through a handwritten letter dedicated to her fans. She wrote, "I will continue to do my very best for Oh My Girl for the next 10, 20 years. I'm very much with you in your wish to protect the team that is Oh My Girl, and I assure you that I will do all I can to protect it."
The idol also opened up about her plans to pursue acting as the next step in her solo career, saying, "I will work hard so that I can be your pride and not your embarrassment, bearing the title of 'actress' before my name, so please support and love me as you do. While continuing my activities as a member of Oh My Girl with WM Entertainment, I will begin my individual activities as actress YooA with a new agency. I'm both excited and anxious at the opportunity to show you a new side of me."
Finally, YooA expressed her gratitude to Miracles, the members of Oh My Girl, and the staff at WM Entertainment for the last 10 years.
Meanwhile, Oh My Girl debuted as an 8-member group on April 21, 2015, with the release of their 1st mini album, 'Oh My Girl'.
