Celebrity couple Lee Sang Soon and Lee Hyori have made a generous donation of 200 million KRW (approx. $144,000) to Beautiful Foundation to support young adults transitioning out of institutional care.
On May 19th KST, the couple contributed the funds to help cover educational and living expenses, as well as career exploration activities, for self-reliant youth—young individuals who must become independent after aging out of the foster care system.
This donation carries added significance as it reflects the shared values of both Lee Hyori, who has maintained a relationship with the Beautiful Foundation for over a decade, and Lee Sang Soon, who has long shown interest in supporting marginalized communities. The couple expressed hope that their contribution would help these youth live more stable, independent lives and successfully integrate into society.
Lee Sang Soon and Lee Hyori stated, “We decided to donate in hopes of supporting these young people as they begin life on their own. We hope they find their own path and confidently pursue their dreams.”
The Beautiful Foundation is a public interest nonprofit that connects donors, activists, and civic participants to promote meaningful change. It operates over 30 programs designed to help neighbors in need and support the public good.
