Q&A with Kang So Ra:
Q. What made you decide to join the show?
“I was drawn to the concept right away—‘dog kindergarten’ sounded so fun. I love dogs, and this felt like a chance to indulge in that. I’ve watched my dad train dogs before and even tried it myself, but I wasn’t sure if I’d be a burden since I’ve never been formally trained.”
Q. What does your dog mean to you?
“Is there any other animal that gives such unconditional love like a dog? Even if I don’t take them on walks often, or pamper them, or do anything special—dogs look at you like you’re their whole world. Sometimes I wonder if I deserve that kind of love.”
Q. What’s your biggest concern for pets when their owners are away?
“I was lucky to live with my parents, so I didn’t worry about my dog being left alone. But for single-person households, I think support systems and living conditions really need to be considered. Having a dog is a beautiful journey, but it also comes with great responsibility.”
Q. What did you gain or learn through this experience?
“Compared to the others, I felt like I didn’t fully qualify as a pet parent—they were all so dedicated. But I learned a lot from the professional trainers. The knowledge I gained about dogs was incredibly valuable.”
Q. How did you prepare for filming, and what surprised you?
“I trained at the ‘dog kindergarten’ before shooting, but nothing prepares you for real life. I was flustered when things didn’t go as expected, but I learned to adapt. Life is real training.”
Q. Any memorable interactions with the dogs?
“There were dogs who had trouble adjusting at first, but slowly started opening up. I’ll never forget seeing them come in with worried expressions and gradually become more confident—barking loudly to express themselves. I felt grateful watching them grow comfortable with us.”
Q. Any funny or touching moments during filming?
“I remember building a pool for water play on a rainy day—balancing the water temperature, carrying buckets—and one retriever loved it so much he refused to come out! One dog slowly warming up to us was especially moving, and the smaller pups had adorable yet brave moments that melted my heart.”
Q. What should viewers look out for?
“I’ll repay the trust of pet owners with real results. I approached this with the mindset of caring for family. ‘Dog Kindergarten’ is a happy place filled with joy, emotion, and healing—please look forward to it!”
