On May 14, singer HyunA appeared as a guest on comedian Lee Yong Jin’s YouTube web variety show 'Yongtarot,' uploaded to his LEEYONGJIN YouTube channel, where she candidly shared updates about her personal life, including her ongoing tattoo removal and married life with fellow singer Yong Junhyung.
“It’s been about a year since I started removing my tattoos,” HyunA revealed. “My mom suggested I try living with a clean slate, so I decided to give it a shot. But it’s incredibly painful. I’ve gone through four sessions and am currently taking a break.” Host Lee Yong Jin, who has also undergone tattoo removal, sympathized with her, noting, “It’s a long and painful process—you have to go every two months.”
Lee also joked about HyunA’s surprise marriage announcement, saying, “You dropped the ‘I got married’ news when we were only meeting for the third time. It’s a bit one-sided, don’t you think?” HyunA laughed and admitted, “I was so nervous I had to take medication to calm myself down before coming.”
When asked about her married life, HyunA shared, “It’s been wonderful. I used to struggle with insomnia before, but now I sleep soundly. Just being in the same space brings me peace.”
She continued, expressing her deep affection for her husband: “We’ve never fought and we shouldn’t. If we did, he’d win anyway. He leads by example in such a positive way that I have nothing to argue about. He never tries to fix me; he accepts me as I am.”
HyunA also reflected on how marriage has introduced her to everyday joys: “I debuted so young that I didn’t know how to do things like go to the bank. After getting married, I got my first family register document and enjoyed it. Even little things, like going out in pajamas to buy a can of beer, are fun. There are a lot of celebrities in our neighborhood, and when they see me like that, they joke, ‘Why have you turned into an auntie?’”
HyunA and Yong Junhyung tied the knot in October 2024, officially beginning their life as a married couple.
