'Hi.5' director Kang Hyeong Cheol commented on Yoo Ah In's screen time in the film amid the actor's drug controversy.
On May 12, a production press conference for the film 'Hi.5' was held at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Actors Lee Jae In, Ahn Jae Hong, Ra Mi Ran, Kim Hee Won, Oh Jung Se, Park Jin Young, and director Kang Hyeong Cheol attended the event.
When asked about the editing of Yoo Ah In’s scenes due to the drug controversy surrounding him, director Kang responded, “It’s a regrettable situation. It would have been better if it hadn’t happened, but at the time, the film wasn’t completed yet. We were focused on post-production.”
He added, “I remember hearing as a child that 'when a major issue arises, a capable leader must first resolve it.' As the person in charge, I felt it was my responsibility to complete the film and the performances of the actors. I’d say there was almost no editing done in that regard.”
'Hi.5' is a comic action film about five individuals who unexpectedly gain different superpowers through organ transplants and find themselves in conflict with those who covet their abilities. The film is set to premiere on May 30.
