On April 4, Following the Constitutional Court’s unanimous decision to uphold the impeachment of former President Yoon Suk Yeol, prominent figures in South Korea's entertainment industry have taken to social media to celebrate the ruling.

At 11:22 a.m. on April 4, the Constitutional Court of Korea announced its decision to remove Yoon from office, with all eight justices concurring. Acting Chief Justice Moon Hyung Bae read the official order: “We hereby dismiss President Yoon Suk Yeol from his post.” The ruling came 111 days after the National Assembly submitted the impeachment motion on December 14, and 122 days after Yoon declared emergency martial law on December 3.

Actress Kim Gyu Ri shared her reaction on social media with a playful post: a picture of scallions placed atop ramen — a visual pun on the Korean word “pa myun", which means both “dismissal” and “scallion noodles.” She captioned it with emojis of a thumbs-up and a heart, along with the hashtag “#Dismissed.”

Actor Kim Eui Sung, known for his outspoken political views, posted a celebratory message alongside a group photo with his castmates from his latest film 'Lobby,' writing, “Now, come watch Lobby.

Actress Shin So Yull shared a news screenshot with the caption, “The people have dismissed Yoon’s dictatorship,” adding, “Congratulations, everyone. Let’s move forward and live well together. Let’s welcome spring.” Shin was previously involved in street protests demanding Yoon’s impeachment following his emergency decree.

Musical actress Kim Ji Woo expressed her joy by revealing, “The migraine that’s been bothering me for weeks disappeared like magic.”

Actress Park Ji Young also posted a screenshot of the breaking news about Yoon’s dismissal, signaling her support for the decision.

The historic ruling has sent ripples throughout the nation, with the entertainment industry joining the chorus of citizens expressing relief, joy, and renewed hope for democratic values.
