Another celebrity-athlete couple has emerged, as actress Kim So Eun and professional soccer player Jung Dong Ho of K League 1’s Suwon FC are reportedly in a relationship.
According to Ilgan Sports on April 23rd, the two have been dating for over a year since March 2023. Kim So Eun was born in 1989 and Jung Dong Ho in 1990, making them a one-year noona-dongsaeng (older woman-younger man) couple.
Sources say the couple is dating with marriage in mind and has taken several overseas trips together, including to Japan and Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. They’ve even worn matching rings in separate social media posts, subtly hinting at their relationship.
Their mutual friend, former footballer Heo Beom San, reportedly introduced them during a dinner with a screen golf group. Jung Dong Ho is said to have fallen for Kim So Eun at first sight and actively pursued her.
Kim So Eun, who is currently not signed with any agency after parting ways with Ascendio Entertainment in September last year, last appeared as a guest on SBS variety show Shoes Off, Single for Men in December.
Jung Dong Ho began his professional football career in 2009 with Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan’s J.League 1. A seasoned defender, he represented South Korea at the 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup and was selected for the senior national team in 2015. He has been playing for Suwon FC since 2021.
