On April 22, various online community posts went viral after former NCT member Taeil was spotted in public.

One eyewitness account was shared in a popular online community on April 21 with alleged photos of the former idol. The poster explained, "I saw Moon Taeil recently. He's out drinking even before his first trial." They added, "My friend happened to see him while eating at the same restaurant and took photos, but one of the acquaintances said, 'My dongsaeng (younger brother) is going through a hard time, so please don't take pictures'."

This was the first time there has been any account of Taeil being out in public since he was indicted on charges of sexually assaulting an intoxicated woman. Following the police investigation news, SM Entertainment immediately announced Taeil's departure from NCT.

Korean netizens are now discussing Taeil's latest sighting and commented:
