Singer and producer Code Kunst revealed his surprising past as a top student during a heartfelt lecture at his former high school, offering warm advice to younger students.
On the April 18 episode of MBC’s 'I Live Alone,' Code Kunst visited Yeonsu High School to give a special talk on music.
“I'm the only musician who graduated from Yeonsu High,” he said, sharing his feelings about returning to his roots. The students welcomed him with enthusiastic cheers, and the atmosphere was so electric that an impromptu autograph session took place.
During the lecture, Code Kunst generously shared his personal music project files for free. “Rather than trying to make a lot of money through music, I wanted to help those who truly want to keep music in their lives,” he explained. He also noted that he rarely shares these files publicly, adding a special significance to the gesture.
He sincerely addressed students’ concerns as well. When one student asked about balancing academics and music, Code Kunst responded, “Those who were good at studying often end up succeeding in music too.”
In response to a playful comment from Park Na Rae, he confidently revealed, “I was top of my class several times,” unveiling an unexpected side from his school days.
“The habits and perseverance built through studying help tremendously in anything you pursue,” he emphasized, adding that “age is never a barrier when it comes to starting music.”
After the lecture, Code Kunst hosted a lucky draw event, giving away 1 million KRW (aboout $705) worth of clothing, sneakers, LPs, and albums to the students. He even wrapped up the day with an after-party at his favorite Chinese restaurant from his school days, warming hearts with nostalgia.
Meanwhile, Code Kunst continues to expand his presence not only in music but also across entertainment programs, attracting a broad fan base.
