Cha Jun Hwan made history by becoming the first Korean male figure skater to win gold at the 2025 Asian Winter Games. And his victory has sparked renewed interest in his past as a child actor.
On February 13, Cha secured his gold medal with a stunning free skate performance, earning 187.60 points (99.02 technical + 88.58 artistic). His total combined score of 281.69 points, including his short program score of 94.09, placed him ahead of 2022 Beijing Olympic silver medalist Yuma Kagiyama (272.76 points).
Following his win, fans took to social media to celebrate his historical achievement and also look back at his childhood career as a child actor. One fan shared photos of the skater when he made his appearance in the 2007 drama 'Romance Papa,' and the 2009 drama 'The Return of Iljimae.'
