Actress Kim Sae Ron addresses marriage rumors sparked by her recent photos.
On January 8th KST, Kim Sae Ron clarified the recent speculation surrounding her alleged marriage during a phone interview. She stated, “The photos were taken with friends, and the marriage rumors are not true.” However, she added, “I find it difficult to explain why I uploaded and deleted the photos. I ask for your understanding.”
The rumors began on January 6th when Kim Sae Ron posted a series of photos with a male companion on her social media, captioned with the word “Marry.” The photos were deleted within minutes, but the caption led to widespread speculation about her potential marriage.
Kim Sae Ron faced legal and public scrutiny after causing a DUI accident in May 2022 in Seoul’s Gangnam District. She collided with guardrails, trees, and a transformer box, leading to significant property damage. She refused a breathalyzer test and requested a blood sample analysis, which revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.2%, far exceeding the legal limit for license revocation.
In May 2023, Kim Sae Ron was fined 20 million won following a court trial. As a result, she stepped down from the Netflix series ‘Bloodhounds,’ forcing the production to heavily edit her scenes and alter the storyline.
Kim Sae Ron attempted to return to acting with the play ‘Dongchimi,’ but public backlash led her to withdraw. Most recently, she completed filming the movie ‘Guitar Man,’ which is scheduled for release this year.
