Go Hyun Jung (54) has shared an update on her health, revealing she is recovering well after undergoing major surgery following a period of serious illness and hospitalization.
On January 6, the actress posted on Instagram, saying, “I’m sorry for worrying everyone. I’ve made a lot of progress in my recovery.” She added, “The pain was overwhelming, but now that the surgery is successfully behind me, I feel a sense of clarity.”
Go expressed her heartfelt gratitude to fans, stating, “I will be more mindful and take better care of my health. Thank you sincerely for all the support and concern.”
Concerns about Go’s health first arose when she abruptly canceled her appearance at the press conference for the Genie TV original drama 'Namib' on December 16, citing a sudden decline in her condition. Neither Go nor her agency disclosed the specific nature of her illness.
In a prior interview on the YouTube channel 'Fairy Jae Hyung', Go had spoken candidly about her health challenges, recounting an incident where she collapsed in public. “During my hiatus, I was much sicker than I expected. I underwent treatment coordinated between two hospitals, and while I thought I was getting better, I ended up collapsing on the street. I even asked strangers for help," saying, "I'm Go Hyun Jung, please save me," she revealed.
At the time, her agency explained that her absence was due to medical advice, emphasizing the need for “absolute rest and recovery” after her sudden health deterioration. Fans and well-wishers continue to send their support to Go as she focuses on regaining her health.
