The film 'Harbin' has achieved a remarkable milestone, surpassing 2 million viewers within just five days of its release.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing system, 'Harbin' officially crossed the 2-million mark on October 28 at 5:56 PM. This achievement comes at a pace faster than the mega-hit '12.12: The Day' (which reached the same milestone on its sixth day) and matches the record set by 'Avatar: The Way of Water'.
To celebrate the milestone, a video featuring the core team of Harbin—Hyun Bin, Jo Woo Jin, Jeon Yeo Been , Park Hoon, and director Woo Min Ho—was released. Known for their strong camaraderie both on and off-screen, the cast thanked audiences for their support. The actors, who have been praised for their compelling portrayals of intricate character relationships, are scheduled to greet fans in person this weekend through stage appearances, with tickets already sold out.
Set in 1909, 'Harbin' portrays a tense pursuit between individuals traveling to 'Harbin' for a shared purpose and those who chase them. The film has dominated the box office, holding the top spot in ticket sales and reservations, and is currently enjoying critical and commercial success.
In the celebratory video, Hyun Bin revealed a message tucked inside his bag that read, “Thank you to 2 million Harbin viewers.” Joined by the cast and director, they expressed their heartfelt gratitude to audiences. Meanwhile, actor Park Jung Min, currently filming overseas, also shared a photo to thank fans for the overwhelming support, adding to the film’s celebratory atmosphere.
