Kim Sae Ron resumes acting career with new film following DUI conviction.
On November 13 KST, sources in the film industry confirmed that Kim Sae Ron’s upcoming project is the movie ‘Guitar Man’. The film follows the story of an underground band, Volcano, and a genius guitarist who joins them. Initially directed by Shin Jae Ho, the film has since shifted to a different director.
Kim Sae Ron’s co-star is Lee Sun Jung, the lead vocalist and guitarist of ‘Lee Sun Jung Band’. Lee, also the CEO of the pharmaceutical company Seongwon Pharmaceutical, is reported to have taken on multiple roles in ‘Guitar Man’, including investor, producer, and male lead.
Previously, in May 2022, Kim Sae Ron was arrested for DUI after causing a car accident and fleeing the scene. She was detained by police after refusing a breathalyzer and requesting a blood test instead.
As a result of the DUI incident, Kim Sae Ron withdrew from all her scheduled projects, and scenes featuring her in completed films were edited out.
