Fans of BLACKPINK’s Jennie and NCT’s Jaehyun won’t be able to hear their new songs on KBS, as the broadcasting network ruled both tracks unfit for airing.

On October 23rd, KBS released the results of its music review on its official website. Jennie’s 'Mantra' and Jaehyun’s 'Unconditional' were both disqualified from broadcast.

The reason provided was that the songs violated Article 46 of the Broadcasting Review Regulations, which restricts advertising effects. Specifically, the lyrics of both songs were found to mention brand names.

Jennie’s 'Mantra' references brands such as Defender vehicles and In-N-Out Burger, with lines like "We had to do a In-N-Out drive-by."

However, songs can be reconsidered for broadcast if the problematic lyrics are revised or removed, and after passing a re-evaluation, they may be approved for airing.

'Mantra' is a song that encourages listeners to embrace their unique way of shining confidently, and it has already been performing well on global charts like Billboard and Spotify.

Jaehyun’s 'Unconditional' is an R&B pop track with a funky rhythm, bass line, and soulful choir sound. The song is set to be released on October 24th.
