BTS member Jin moved fans by volunteering at a dog shelter, despite his allergy, taking medication beforehand to make sure he could help.
Recently, Jin appeared on the Japanese NTV charity program '24-Hour TV'. He participated in a segment called 'Everyone's Zoo', where he worked alongside Aiba from Japanese idol group Arashi, bathing and grooming rescued dogs. The filming took place at a dog shelter in Korea, where Jin and Aiba provided much-needed care for the animals.
Jin, with his signature warm smile, kindly bathed and groomed the dogs. Even during the challenging tasks, he never stopped smiling and genuinely took care of the animals.
Jin explained his motivation for appearing on the show: "I thought that if I showed myself doing this, people who might not normally be interested could think, 'Maybe I should try volunteering at a shelter too.' That's why I decided to participate."
He added, "I'm a very successful idol, aren't I? I think it’s thanks to the love of my fans that I'm able to stand here and take part in this program."
After the broadcast, the shelter Rainbow Haven shared the story on Instagram, revealing more about Jin’s visit. "Despite his allergy, Seok Jin took his medication beforehand and came to volunteer. His sincerity touched us deeply, and we are so grateful."
The shelter went on to describe how Jin tirelessly helped bathe and groom the dogs and even cleaned the kennels in the hot weather without showing any signs of discomfort. He also took the time to listen attentively to the stories of the rescue animals, showing genuine interest in their pasts.
Jin's deep connection to shelter animals may stem from his own experience. He had previously adopted a rescue dog as a child and cared for it for 12 years, which likely made his volunteer work even more meaningful.
