Actress Park Min Young, who is garnering attention for her role in the tvN drama 'Marry MY Husband,' has recently made a donation.

Park Min Young generously donated 100 million KRW (~75,048 USD) to the Seoul Asan Hospital Cancer Center, aiming to support patients battling cancer.

Her decision was deeply influenced by her portrayal of Kang Ji Won, a character who fought cancer before returning to the past in the drama.

On February 8, Seoul Asan Hospital announced that Park Min Young had made a generous donation to the hospital's cancer center the day before (February 7), with the explicit purpose of aiding in the treatment of cancer patients.

Park Min Young has consistently demonstrated her commitment to social causes through various philanthropic activities.

In March 2022, she contributed 100 million KRW to the Hope Bridge Disaster Relief Association, offering assistance to those affected by wildfires in Uljin, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Samcheok, Gangwon Province.

Additionally, in March 2019, she extended her support to the animal protection organization 'KARA', donating proceeds from merchandise sales directly to the cause, under the fan nickname 'MY Beans'.

In preparation for her role in this latest project, Park Min Young underwent a significant physical transformation, shedding her weight down to 37kg (81.43 lbs) to authentically portray a 'terminal cancer patient.'

Through this process, she gained insight into the immense challenges faced by real-life cancer patients. It is reported that she chose to donate a portion of her earnings from the show to provide some support to those battling cancer.

Meanwhile, 'Marry My Husband' follows the story of a woman who witnesses her husband's extramarital affair with her best friend and is subsequently murdered before returning ten years into the past, where she begins a second life, seeking revenge against her husband and friend for the wrongs done to her.

The 12th episode aired on February 6 and attained an average nationwide rating of 10.5%, peaking at 13%.
