Dancer Audrey Lane from Jam Republic is currently in the limelight in Korean media for confidently displaying her underarm hair. Both on television and her personal Instagram, Lane has been unapologetic in publicly keeping her armpits unshaven. 

This distinct move has caused Lane's name to frequently appear in Korean media with 'armpit hair' being a high-ranking related search term on web portals. Many media articles discuss how uncommon this sight is among Korean women, with a few notable exceptions that have sparked debate in the past.

Consequently, Lane’s decision sparked further discussions leading to a re-evaluation of gender image and cultural norms associated with body hair. The conversation has reopened debates about notable incidents where other celebrities, such as the actress Moon So Ri, audaciously turned heads on the red carpet with visible underarm hair in 2021. According to media outlets, this was the only known incident of such kind for an actress in Korea.

Meanwhile, Lane continues to garner praise for her versatile dance moves as the 'maknae' of Jam Republic. She has also previously been known for her captivating visuals, described as akin to a “Disney character" with unexpected charms.
