Dara opened up about her signature 2NE1 hairstyle.
On the September 23rd episode of 'Amazing Saturday', Dara was asked about her image as a 2NE1 member in the past. Shin Dong Yup asked if she tried to play a character with a strong image on purpose, and Dara responded, "That's why I put my hair up like that. I didn't want to be discouraged."
She continued, "I was able to have fun on stage because I had something like that."
In related news, Dara made her solo debut with "Festival" this past July.

I remember being very young and watching Dara on stage, and she didn’t even care that she had the most outrageous outfits and hairstyles on, she just wanted to have fun and slay the stage. It completely changed the way I looked at fashion and style. She embraced the unusual and the weird, and because of that I felt embraced as well. 2NE1 gave me a lot of confidence as I was growing up. I will always be thankful to them.
