On September 6 KST it was announced that beloved actor Kim Min Jae is set to enlist in the military, aiming to fulfill his mandatory duty as a South Korean citizen. The revelation was made by Kim's agency, Nyam Nyam Entertainment, who announced that the actor's enlistment date was just around the corner, scheduled for September 18 KST.
Later in the day, the actor addressed his impending enlistment via a heartfelt post on his fan cafe. In his own words, he stated, "Today, there is a story I want to share with you directly. Many of you must have been curious. I enlisted in the military on September 18 to fulfill my civic duty."
Expressing his feelings about the upcoming service, he added, "I am heading into the army band, and the thought of not seeing you all for a while fills me with sadness and regret. However, I am also excited and grateful for the new experiences and growth that my military life will surely bring."
In a message full of gratitude and promise to his fans, Kim pledged, "I will return as a stronger, wiser person without forgetting the love and concern you've shown me. I promise to reciprocate your love and support through my improved work as an actor."
