Dispute between Yu Jun Won and Phunky Studio turns into a legal one

AKP STAFF

The ongoing dispute between artist Yu Jun Won and his agency, Pocketdol Studio, along with production company Phunky Studio, has seen further escalation as Yoo Jun Won filed for an injunction.

Yu Jun Won was originally set to join the debut lineup of the new boy group Fantasy Boys after winning first place in the survival audition program which aired until June. However, he refused to join the group on August 14th as he claimed that his demanded modifications to contract terms were not made.

On August 28th, Yu Jun Won revealed that he filed a lawsuit with the Seoul Western District Court for an injunction to suspend the effectiveness of his contract. "The trust in the relationship with the company was broken when the clauses of the contract were explained. The supplemental agreement presented by the company contained toxic clauses such as the company's labor cost burden."

As a result, the production company Phunky Studio is also preparing a legal response. "We have yet to receive the notice from the other party, but once we get it we will be responding as soon as possible. The program has explicitly listed that once you become the debuting lineup, you will be promoted exclusively as a Fantasy Boys member for 5 years. While preparing the subsequent contract, he did not continue to fulfill his obligations nor try to negotiate the disagreements in good faith. Hence we're considering a claim for damages."

Previously, Pocketdol Studio, which is in charge of managing Fantasy Boys, claimed that Jun Won insisted on a profit-sharing rate that was not equitable with the other 11 members and that he left the group twice without permission which inflicted much damage to the group ahead of imminent debut.

According to Pocketdol Studio, Jun Won's sudden trip home on August 4th pushed back the filming of the new music video by a week in each of three different locations - Paju, Yangju, and Jeju Island- which resulted in extra set costs, filming staff labor costs, and other fees.

In addition, the agency claims that the recording and choreography of the new song were also disrupted. A representative revealed KakaoTalk messages exchanged with the choreographer and music video director at the time, claiming, "The group's supposed center Jun Won suddenly left, so we had to change his part of the new song to the chorus and re-record it. We also had to change the choreography several times, which resulted in huge damage."

It was reported Jun Won left the group chat managed by the agency on August 16th. Jun Won's mother refused to comment on this.

Jun Won's legal representative commented, "It was unreasonable to force him to work without a contractual agreement. Jun Won has been faithful to the company's schedule, including his performance in Japan. It is incorrect to say that his trip home during the negotiation was unauthorized because there was no agreement to begin with."

So all the boys who participate in the show must obey this "subsequent contract"? which later revealed that they have to pay 4000 usd permonth for 5 years????? dude, this show is a total scam, kudos for the boy who stood up and leave, he already try to negotiate but the company wont change the contract clause.
