IVE's Jang Won Young has received backlash for using an iPhone after attending a Samsung event.
On July 26, Samsung held their 'Unpacked' event in South Korea, and Jang Won Young was a celebrity in attendance in the front row. She was also featured in American actress Sydney Sweeney's show-and-tell about Samsung's new ZFlip5 phone, which she used to take a selfie of the two together.
Jang Won Young reposted the photo on her own Instagram account, but netizens and media outlets noticed she used a black heart emoji, which is exclusive to the iPhone. Some media outlets and netizens have criticized the star, while others defended her, saying she was not an official model for Samsung. However, she has been featured in campaigns for Samsung due to her promotions as an endorsement model for SK Telecom.
In related news, Jang Won Young recently faced criticism for her reaction to a young child approaching her.

She does not have exclusive contract with Samsung and she was paid just to be there. It's a normal thing. If Samsung wanted her to use their phones they would put her on such contract.
The same thing happens with fashion brands, you don't have to wear fashion brand all the time BUT you do have to wear them on official events. Only stars on exclusive contracts wear brands all the time and to be honest it's only for events and outings, it's impossible to wear fashion house all the time... like in what you will hit the gym? Prada?
On the event Wonyoung was using Samsung phone and in her personal life she can use whatever.
Let me add that she probably has in contract to make x amount of photos where phone is visible on socials and be seen using phone on OFFICIAL events which she does. Samsung is also not only phones its literally everything and Unpack event had other cool stuff that she probably uses in her daily life.
