Jinhwan calls out ticket scalpers after an incident in recent iKON concert

Jinhwan from iKON strongly calls out scalpers after an incident on a recent concert stop in Taiwan.

On May 21, the renowned boy group, iKON, flawlessly concluded the Taipei segment of their 'TAKE OFF' World Tour. This performance was a significant milestone, marking their first foreign tour stop. Their return to Taiwan after a substantial hiatus was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, and they certainly did not disappoint. Delivering a spectacular performance, iKON rekindled the fervor of their Taipei fans, transforming the concert into a celebratory reunion that was long-awaited and will be remembered.

However, certain complications arose that required iKON, and particularly member Kim Jinhwan, to intervene in order to protect their fans.

For a group like iKON, whose popularity spans both domestically and globally, concert tickets typically sell out rapidly, even in foreign countries. The Taipei stop was no exception, with tickets disappearing swiftly. Yet, mere minutes before the concert began, discrepancies emerged between the number of attendees and the ticket sales reported on the ticketing site. Most peculiarly, the best seats in the house remained conspicuously unoccupied, sparking concerns and prompting further investigation.

Suspicions were then confirmed when the following day Jinhwan called out the ticket scalpers in a Twitter post. He wrote in a thread post,

"Scalpers, please don't take advantage of fans' innocent hearts! I wish people like that would see this."

Following Jinhwan's Twitter post concert attendees also went to express their disappointment with the ticket scalpers.

Scalpers are individuals who utilize macro programs to purchase the best concert seats, only to resell them at vastly inflated prices, often two to three times the original ticket price. This exploitation of K-pop events like iKON's concert makes it increasingly difficult for genuine fans to purchase tickets and enjoy their beloved artists' performances. As such, scalpers have become a significant thorn in the side of fans during ticketing.

In the wake of Jinhwan's public callout, fans are optimistic that such incidents will be circumvented in future iKON concerts. It's evident now that iKON, together with their management company 143 Entertainment, are prepared to take proactive steps to protect their fans' interests.

iKON is currently on their 'TAKE OFF' World Tour, traversing Asia, Europe, and America. Additional tour dates have recently been confirmed, with performances scheduled for Kuala Lumpur on July 22, Manila on August 5, and Singapore on August 12.

Then iKon should use to sell their tickets either LIVENATION, TicketMasters and VIVID. These Concerts Ticket Portals had rules for Resellers. Return tickets should be insured + a 95% return if refund is requested 24 hours before the concert. That's one reason cheaper tickets are sold on the day of concert or easily get snatched out.

Secondly for RESELLERS cant get their refund if the concert past the 24 hour limit, concert started and had no insurance. There is a high chance those picture shown of empty sets were PAID SEATS.
