Rapper Dok2 makes the National Health Insurance Service's list of delinquent payers

Dok2 was revealed to have not paid his national health insurance payments of over 10 million KRW( about USD 7,936). 

On January 1st KST, Korea's National Health Insurance Service published a list of individuals who evaded their health insurance payments of over 10 million KRW for over a year. The list targets those who can afford to pay their health insurance payments as insurance premiums are imposed proportional to their incomes. In Korea, anyone that satisfies certain legal requirements (including foreign nationals residing in Korea) will be obliged to subscribe to health insurance regardless of their intention and will be imposed the duty to pay the premiums.

According to the NHIS insider, if a person on the list pays off all or partial backpay to reduce the delinquent amount below 10 million KRW, then he will be removed from the list. But as Dok2 was still on the list as of January 1st, 2023, it seems he has yet to pay off his arrears of insurance payments. He first appeared on the list back in 2020 for not paying his health insurance from 2018 to 2019. He then made the list in 2021 as well.   

Meanwhile, Dok2 was recently reported to have owed 300 million KRW (~ $230,500 USD) in taxes, which he is believed to have evaded for over a year.
