"The Astronaut" by Jin keeps achieving huge success around the world. Just last week, Jin became the first soloist to get the 1,000,000 certification on Gaon with a single album. He is currently 100,000 away from becoming the best-selling K-pop soloist in history.
In Japan, Jin has achieved major success on all platforms. In particular, he was the first K-pop artist to top the Oricon sales chart in the last 11 years. He is the first to do it with a song in Korean language. 'The Astronaut' is the highest-peaking K-pop solo song on the Billboard Hot100 Japan as well.
On December 14, Jin became the first BTS member to get a Gold Disc Certification by RIA Japan! RIA Japan has been active ever since 1989, and only albums that have sold more than 100,000 units can get the Golden Disc Certificate. He is the 7th K-pop soloist in history to get this certificate.
