ENHYPEN's Jake replied to a fan asking if his recent Itaewon hunting controversy (hunting as in "picking up girls") is true.

On August 27 KST, one fan took to Weverse to ask ENHYPEN's Jake, "Jake, is the Itaewon hunting [incident] true?"  To this, Jake surprised many by replying directly to this fan, writing, "It's not true. I wish you would believe me." 

In response, many netizens commented:

"...Let's just quit smoking."

"Is he saying he's not the person in the photo? Then that means people just accused an innocent guy and completely attacked him..."

"Even if it wasn't hunting, it's true that he was careless. Did he really have to borrow a cigarette lighter in front of a convenience store where there are a lot of people?"

"To be honest, you can't tell that it's hunting just by looking at the photos. You should just believe it if he says it wasn't [hunting]. It's not like it was a crime or anything."

"Then what is it? Why was he there?"

"But why did he have to approach girls to ask for a cigarette lighter? And he's an idol...I don't understand."
