Henry asks netizens to stop viewing him through political and nationalistic lenses

On June 3, the cast and crew members of JTBC's new 'Begin Again' spin-off series, 'Fly To The Dance', attended the program's press conference.

On this day, singer/actor Henry appeared in front of the press alongside fellow stars LEEJUNG, Aiki, Amy, Lia Kim, Harimu, and Love Ran. The appearance marked Henry's first time in front of the press after his "China favoritism" controversy.

When asked to discuss his recent controversy, Henry stated, "The past few months have definitely been the most difficult months I've ever endured in my life. All of the cursing and the attacks directed toward me, words I cannot say here, they upset me but I still endured them. What I couldn't endure was the slander against my family. When I saw attacks against my family, I felt my heart tear to pieces each time."

Henry then added on, "I believe that being born in this world is a blessing. I love all people. Regardless of gender, nationality, or anything, I want to deliver good energy to people through my music and performances. I hope that people can see me through the lenses of music, and not through nationalistic or political lenses. Can you all just stop? I am always doing my best."

Meanwhile, JTBC's 'Fly To The Dance' is a dance busking reality program, where a crew of Korean dancers travel to the United States to put on busking performances.

What lol? He’s the one who said political comments in the past. This is why I stopped listening to his music. You simply cant support the ccp to make more money, and then start complaining when other ppl dont like it. You reap what you sow. He just looks pathetic now.

I don't know. Sure, those people cursing him are definitely not doing things right, and I don't think Henry's a bad person. But he's just been brushing any and all political issues off with the "I'm a good person and I love everyone" image. If your channel manager did something political/national, take responsibility for it if you work in a different nation. Why is he trying to blame the public for seeing him in a political way when his channel manager is the one who did something political in the first place? It's the actions that caused people to see him in this light - not only his ethnicity, which he seems to be trying to blame everything on.
