"I wonder if it'll end when I die." MAMAMOO's Hwasa confesses her feelings about malicious comments

AKP STAFF

MAMAMOO's Hwa Sa confessed her feelings about malicious comments.

In Wave's original 'MMM_Where are we now,' which is a documentary video about MAMAMOO released on the 25th, Hwa Sa confessed that there was a time in which she spent a horrendous time due to malicious comments, even thinking, "Would this situation end if I die?"

On this day, Mamamoo's agency RBW CEO Kim Do Hoon explained, "Hwa Sa used to be a lot chubbier, but then she would dress boldly so some people would just say, 'She's interesting, wonder what she'll be later?' but then there were people who were more conservative and would comment, 'You're unlikeable, you won't make it.' To be honest, it's a world where women are more subject to criticisms over their image."

As a result, Hwa Sa had to suffer from malicious comments related to her appearance. She explained in the documentary, "I thought it was just misfortune. So I even thought 'Would this situation all end if I die?' My occupation is a singer. And I'm not the type of person who wants to do other things, businesses while being a singer. I want to repay my fans with music and communicate with them through music. That's is everything to me, that's the type of person I am But then it got to a point where I didn't even want to do that."

No idol should have to think that, I don't care whether you like an idol or not. Getting someone to a point where they consider harming themselves is an act of pure evil and ignorance. If you're one of those people, shame on you!!

I'm glad more idols are opening up about the mental health effects they suffer from fans & netizens. The comment sections even just on this site, especially any about women deemed by fans as having some "negative" quality, are some of the most heinous, cruel comments I've ever read in my life. The comments left on this site about Sulli before she took her life were horrific. & it hasn't gotten better. Just take a look at any article featuring Jennie of BP, it's disgusting. Considering most of the idols understand basic english or have members who understand it & that they regularly state they look up comments about themselves - these comments should face consequences. It's not "free speech" or "your opinion" anymore when your speech rises to discriminatory speech or it becomes persistent & pervasive. & the fact most people on this site blame Koreans for idols' suffering is adding insult to injury as they sit here & do everything they can to harass, demean, & bully any idol they decide they don't like. If AKP is gonna post about this they need to do something to clean up their own site.
