Netizens noticed that the three actors from the hit drama 'SKY Castle' all faced controversies as of recent events.
On January 27, one netizen took to an online community forum to create a post titled, "These three from 'SKY Castle' all ran into a controversy, yikes." The netizen then included a photo of the SF9's Chani, Kim Dong Hee, and Jo Byung Kyu back from when they appeared in the popular drama 'SKY Castle'.
Jo Byung Kyu was the first among the three actors to run into a controversy regarding his alleged past school violence. Back in February 2021, one netizen claimed that Jo Byung Kyu had been a school bully while he was a student in New Zealand. Later, Kim Dong Hee also faced a school bullying controversy, where he was accused of using school violence against a disabled student. Kim Dong Hee later issued an apology letter to his accuser, but his controversy stirred up once again when the alleged victim's mother shared her thoughts in an interview.
Finally, SF9's Chani, along with fellow member Hwiyoung, was recently booked on charges of violating social distancing rules. Chani and Hwiyoung attended a drinking party event at a bar with 15 additional people present. Both members then revealed a handwritten letter, apologizing to their fans who had been disappointed by their thoughtless actions.
