Weeekly's Soojin has been selected as the ambassador for the '23rd Bucheon International Animation Festival'.
On the morning of August 11 KST, representatives of the Bucheon Internation Animation Festival stated, "Weeekly's leader Soojin as been chosen as the ambassador for the 23rd Bucheon International Animation Festival." The Bucheon International Animation Festival is Korea's first Academy-designated international film festival, and selects only high-quality animation films. Further, the festival focuses on introducing these high quality films and spreading the original charms of diverse genres. Soojin, who chose the Academy Award winning film 'Wallace and Gromit' as the first film she watched in theaters, plans to participate in various activities as the ambassador of BIAF2021. Soojin will attend a press conference in September, an opening event of a film festival in October, and more.
Soojin is the leader of the girl group Weeekly. Weeekly are recognized as 'super rookies' among the K-pop community, and won six 'Best New Artist' awards at various K-pop music award ceremonies. In addition, Weeekly broke many personal records with the release of their 3rd mini album 'We Play'. Their title track "After School" achieved significant results on Spotify's 'Viral 50' global chart, as well as U.S. Billboard's 'Digital Song' chart.
Meanwhile, the 23rd Bucheon International Animation Festival, with Weeekly's Soojin active as the ambassador, will be held for five days beginning on October 22nd, until October 26th.
