The cast for the Korean remake of the popular Antena3/Netflix drama 'Money Heist (La Casa de Papel)' has been announced.
According to a February 10 Chosun Ilbo report, model and actor Jang Yoon Joo was cast for the role of Nairobi.
Nairobi is a former counterfeiter who is in charge of screening currency in an eight-member heist group. Jang Yoon Joo made her debut in the film industry as Miss Bong through the 2015 movie 'Veteran' and proved her acting skills to the viewers.
'Money Heist' or 'La Casa de Papel' is a Spanish drama streaming on Netflix depicting the story of eight criminals who gathered under the command of a genius professor to rob the central bank.
The drama has gained much love and popularity as it was one of the most-watched series on Netflix. At one point, the drama ranked in second place on the Netflix global charts. Currently, four seasons have been released, with the fifth season currently under production.
In addition to Jang Yoon Joo, actor Yoo Ji Tae has been cast as the Professor, and actor Park Hye Soo has been cast as Berlin.
Actress Jeon Jong Seo, who recently released the film 'The Call,' was cast as Tokyo, the narrator of the drama. Actress Kim Yoon Jin was also cast to play Raquel Murillo's role, the detective pursuing the Professor and the eight robbers.
The Korean version of 'Money Heist' will be directed by Kim Hong Sun, who directed the dramas 'Voice' and 'Black.' The drama is currently undergoing an additional casting stage.
