BTS's Jin meets the actor who inspired him, Kim Nam Gil, at the '35th Golden Disc Awards'
BTS Jin and Kim Nam Gil greeted each other at the 35th Golden Disc Awards.
The prestigious music awards event in South Korea, the Golden Disk Awards, was held for the 35th time this year. The event was held for two days from 9 –10 January 2021. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the 35thGolden Disc Awards were held without a live audience. The first day of the event was dedicated to the 'Digital Song Division' awards and the second day to the 'Physical Album Division' awards. BTS attended and received awards on both two days. Meanwhile, Kim Nam Gil was the presenter of Daesang's physical album on the second day.
Jin has been a fan of Kim Nam Gil for a long time. He was very touched and wanted to become an actor after watching Kim Nam Gil portray the character Bidam in the drama 'Queen Seondeok'. Jin then majored in Film for his bachelor's degree at the prestigious university in South Korea, Konkuk University.
This time at the 35th Golden Disc Awards, Jin became a successful fanboy after getting a chance to greet the actor who inspired him.
Jin called Kim Nam-gil "Hyung" at the Golden Disc Award.

What I love about this is the fact that we rarely get to meet our heroes or the people that inspired us to be more, the people who made us dream, the people that made us love something. Seokjin loves acting, so much that he managed to graduate from konkuk university with a busy idol schedule and never gave up, that amount of determination and love is impressive. He never does things halfheartedly. Both are so talented. Both have that presence, you can't look away. When Seokjin debuts as an actor, I will get to see my inspiration on the screen, hopefully I'll have the luck of meeting him someday too.
