The unit debuted in July 2019 and since then fans have noted an abysmal amount of promotion towards the two EXO members. One of the example pointed out is the fact that EXO-SC actually never went to a music show though music shows are an essential part of promotion for idols. Though they went on to break multiple unit records and become the best selling subunit in Korea, fans were quick to point that SM entertainment had little to do with the achievements. EXO is already an household name in the Korean industry but EXO-SC is actually a rookie, they need promotion in order to build a name that can stand next to EXO but SM seems to not realize that, enraging the fans even more everyday.
This is actually not the first time the fans have expressed their disappointment towards the company. A few days ago, an article on NAVER describing the situation EXO-SC is going through went up on NAVER after fans had spoken up on the fact SM still hasn't released a single teaser nor the album specs or details. Soon after that article went live, SM revealed the album specs.
EXO-SC fans took on Twitter to trend two hashtags, #엣쓰엠_세찬대우_제대로 and #엣쓰엠_세찬한테_기본만해줘 , one of which is currently trending #1 in South Korea and #6 worldwide to ask SM entertainment to do better for the unit whose comeback is right around the corner.
A few of the demands are proper promotions on music and variety shows, the immediate release of promotional content like teasers and logos to build up anticipation for their comeback amongst many other things.
If SM loves money so much, I wonder why they can't promote EXO better and especially give the members more projects. EXO itself literally brings in majority of SM's profits. SM needs to get their priorities straight

This honestly enrages me so much. We all know SM is trash when it comes to promoting most of their artists, including their highest earners, but I don't think I've ever seen them treat a group as badly as EXO-SC. Like, with them they cannot even do the bare minimum but expect Sehun's and Chanyeol's large fanbases to buy the albums regardless of how they're treated, which is not right, Sehun and Chanyeol have given so much to SM and have brought in so much money and fans, they deserve support and proper promotions and don't need to have to deal with promoting their album on their own. 16 days before the album drops and there's been nothing from SM. How is this good business or the proper way to treat your artists? Not promoting their album properly will also make sure that their fanbase doesn't expand and grow, which will hurt their careers in the future and may effect their longevity. I don't know why, but I was hoping this time they'd actually treat them better than how they treated them with What A Life. But it seems like a repeat because SM knows that us loyal fans are going to promote the album ourselves and still buy it and it will still be successful. WAL had zero promotions and still EXO-SC became the highest selling subunit in Korean history. SM knows this, so they will continue to treat EXO-SC like this. SM doesn't care about their artists, just making a profit. I hope that they will listen and I am tweeting and messaging SM about this too, but honestly I've given up hope that they will treat their artists better.
