I'll preference this with Mamamoo deserve all the success they have earned.

So for reference to Idol pay, idol contracts, and trainee debt.

Mamamoo Debuted on June 19, 2014 with Mr. Ambiguous, from the EP Hello.
On November 21st they released their second EP Piano Man.

Um Oh Ah Yeh was from the 3rd EP Pink Funky and wasn't released until June 19th 2015.

It took 3 successful EPs and their activities over the course of a year for Mamamoo to pay off their trainee debt. Mamamoo was and is known as being one of, if not THE, hardest working Idol group in terms of schedules. They packed their schedule full of festivals and events which certainly helped to drive down their debt faster.

Let all that sink in. Idols must work hard *AND* be successful to get a paycheck.
