LOONA's Yves recently shared her thoughts about her new variety show gig.

On May 19, her agency Blockberry Creative announced that her new MBC variety show 'Granny Poetry Club' would be airing its first episode that day, asking fans to support Yves as she shows fans a whole new side of her.

While the idol is popular for her charismatic dance performances, for the program, which deals with helping teach illiterate elderly women how to read, Yves plans to lean into her roots as a girl from Korea's Gyeongsangnam Province, with plenty of hometown dialect and modest charm.

"Because the first variety program that I am appearing on alone, of course I'm worried, but I'm even more excited," Yves commented about the show. "The members I made with these grandmothers was enjoyable, and I was happy. Even now, I think about the moments I shared with them every day." 

She then recalled how the experience had touched her life, including a moment where the elderly women she taught learned to write their children's names. She called the experience a "precious time" where she received a lot of enlightenment, adding that she she believes the viewers will find the program "touching and enjoyable."

Meanwhile, 'Granny Poetry Club' airs its first episode on May 19 at 6:45 PM KST. Yves will be joined by fellow celebrities Moon So Ri, Jang Dong Yoon, Weki Meki's Choi Yoo Jung, Cosmic Girls' Soobin, and (G)I-DLE's Yuqi.
