LipBubble's agency announces group's disbandment after two years

AKP STAFF

Girl group LipBubble has announced their disbandment.

The group's label ZENITH Media Contents first relayed the news through the members' official fan cafe on May 20.

"Valuing the thoughts and time of each member, ZENITH Media Contents gathered all of their opinions, and while it is sudden, disbandment was decided,"
the agency revealed.

The agency added that the members' teamwork and trust in one another strengthened through the two albums they released. They also expressed that not being able to continue with them as part of the company was "a big shame."

Meanwhile, LipBubble debuted as a seven-member girl group back on March 22, 2017 with the single "Popcorn."

Most of these disbandment announcements from smaller companies I'm like "Who?" because I don't remember ever hearing of the group before. And I'm not saying it to be mean. It's just the truth of what the industry is like. So few groups ever really make it to the level of being memorable.

This is really sad. In the us, it’s really possible and very common for new names to become big because there’s no intense spotlight focus compared to Korea. In 2nd gen Kpop, it was very common for a small group to win a major award even if they went up against big name groups, especially for music shows. Nowadays, the industry and fans place so much emphasis on a few groups, it leaves no air for the smaller groups to even survive, let alone do well. Most will immediately assume I’m taking about Blackpink and BTS, and It’s not an attack on these groups but fans and media. Everyday there’s a new article, news etc about the same groups not over and over again. These US shows just wanna capitalize on BIG NAME kpop act so rob get good ratings from rabid fans, they don’t give a shit about the actual group. It’s even worse when they create new awards just for some group. Why bother watching award shows when you know who’s gonna win? Sad to see these small groups fight to be active for only 2 year
