MONSTA X's Minhyuk gained sympathy from netizens.
Recently at a fansigning, a fan asked him his 'TMI' from today. Minhyuk responded, "I realized JYP really is an amazing company." The fansigning happened right after ITZY won their first music show in record time, and many sympathized the plight of an idol group from a smaller label compared to an idol group from a giant label such as JYP Entertainment.
MONSTA X has especially had a long way to reach their first #1 as well as their first #1 on a mainstream broadcast show, so many are sympathetic toward the long road they had. Some, however, wonder if it really was necessary for him to bring up another label at a fansigning.

I think debuting with a Big 3 company is kind of like graduating from a highly competitive program at a very prestigious university. It's extremely difficult just to get accepted to study/train but then they have to beat out the other hardworking people in that elite program. Obviously, it doesn't mean skilled people can't come from other companies/universities but it also makes sense why the general public pays more attention to the few who do have these special credentials.
