I heard about this on twitter yesterday, it's just baffling to me that professional journalists would think that Youtube views = popularity and nothing else matters. O-o I mean professional journalists! It makes me think they don't care about the truth or acknowledging either Blackpink nor BTS or kpop in general for that matter, it's just to make some noise without caring and it's sad that they are starting to do this more and more; every year that goes by true journalism dies a bit more and my culture-loving heart is whitering with it.

Look, I like Blackpink, but that statement is so clearly false. Compared to BTS, Blackpink has not achieved nearly as many milestones/broken records as BTS to prove that they're MORE popular. They don't have the emerging household name recognition that BTS has, at least not yet. And I'm not blaming this on the members themselves or saying they're not talented enough or anything. They simply haven't been allowed to put out enough music and actively promote (especially considering how long it's been since their debut).
