Welcome to Arirang TV's series where we introduce various artists from Korea to the international audience each month! With the help from Arirang TV's 'I'M LIVE' a Korean music program that introduces the authentic beauty of Korean contemporary music to the world, we hope to be adding diversity and possibly enlightening our international readers with the Korean music scene that has not yet been touched on.
Check out the round of I'M LIVE artists for this month below!

1. VINXEN

VINXEN! This artist burst onto the music scene earlier in the year through the survival show "High School Rapper 2" and quickly grabbed everyone's attention with his lyrical dexterity, strong voice, and honest soul, sweeping away any doubts about his musical talent that might have lingered because of his young teenage facade. Also, he never hesitated to talk about his personal pain and even his scarred wrist filled with strokes of pain he inflicted on himself while suffering from depression in order to stay true to his belief that hip-hop is all about being free, without covering things up.

On this episode, this talented rapper performs "How Do You Feel," "Barcode," "Fault," "Dark Adaptation" with OVAN, "You Don't Even Know," and one of the double title tracks of his debut album, "Sinking Down with U."

2. U Sung-eun

U Sung-eun made herself known to the public as the runner-up on the talent show "The Voice of Korea." With her trademark groovy, powerful R&B-inspired vocals, she quickly gained mainstream attention upon her debut in 2013 and gradually expanded her reach to dance, ballad music, hip-hop and more. Thanks to her outstanding singing skills, she was also featured in a number of top artists' albums, including Brown Eyed Soul, Yoon Sang, Kim Tae-woo, and Kim Jin-pyo.

On this episode, U Sung-eun displays the quintessence of her musicality through "Be OK," "Work Comes First," "As I Stop," a cover of G-Dragon's "Untitled, 2014," and her collaborative song with Jung Key "Only You."

3. Lee Jin-ah

Lee Jin-ah burst onto the music scene through a talent show in 2014 and left a strong impression on the public with her unique voice and jazz piano sound. Since then, the artist has been steadily building her own musical sphere with a number of self-written songs, soon becoming a highly sought-after musician at festivals and concerts.

At the end of June, Lee Jin-ah released her first full-length album, "Jin-ah Restaurant: Full Course," as the final installment of her restaurant series comprised of "Appetizer" in 2016 and "Jin-ah Restaurant: Menu 2."

On this episode, she performs songs from her latest albums: "Like & Love," "Nothing Special," "Yum, Yum, Yum," "Random," and "I'm Full."

4. SAAY

SAAY caused a huge craze in the industry prior to her official debut with the tracks she uploaded on her personal sound cloud. In May last year, she finally made her much-anticipated debut with the single "Circle" and then one year later, she came up with her first full-length album composed of 18 songs that epitomize her versatile musicality inspired by legendary pop musicians from the 1960's to the 90's, like Michael Jackson, Prince, Lauryn Hill. Thanks to her outstanding talents, she has worked with Henry and Super Junior as a producer and is also receiving much attention for her dancing skills.

On this episode, SAAY performs "Circle," "Lovedrop," "Encore," Vodka & Lemon Shot," "Ol'Me, Myself" and "Overzone" to display her kaleidoscopic musicality.

5. OVAN and Piano Man

OVAN burst onto the music scene at the age of 19 and captivated the public immediately with his trademark pathos and unique voice. Since then, the rapper/vocalist has been expanding his musical scope with his trendy hip-hop sounds and sentimental lyrics, becoming a highly sought-after musician in the industry. Meanwhile, Piano Man is known for his heartwrenching breakup and unrequited love songs as well as his flawless piano playing. Also armed with fantastic son- and lyric-writing skills, he's thoroughly building his career as a musician.

On this episode, OVAN performs "Miss Fortunate" featuring VINXEN and "Drunk Night," and Piano Man presents "Wedding Dress," "Just Friends," and his collaborative single with OVAN "Good Person."
